Liverpool are ready to battle to sign Sporting Lisbon midfield maestro Bruno Fernandes according to Portuguese publication A BOLA.
Fernandes had an impressive first season for the Portuguese club, scoring 16 goals and setting up another 20 after he joined Sporting from Sampdoria for a fee around €10 million in 2017.
The report by A BOLA also states Fernandes has a €100 million release clause in his contract. However due to Sporting’s current financial situation a bid of €40 million could tempt them in to letting their star man go.
Klopp will also face competition from Merseyside rival Marco Silva for the signature of the 24-year-old, with Everton also tipped to try and land the midfielder.
However, a move in January for the Portuguese midfielder could all rely on the situation of the English international.
Sky Sports have recently reported that Lallana will stay at Anfield amongst reports of a loan move to Fenerbahce.
Jurgen Klopp, in the last few days, has also stated that there will ‘probably not’ be any incomings in this window.
So, if Liverpool are to make a move for Fernandes, it seems much more likely it will be in the summer.
