Sear, who is recognisable from his work for Goal, the Liverpool Echo and Squawka, among others, said that he didn’t believe that manager Pep Guardiola was ‘100% happy’ with everything his team did against Chelsea on Sunday, despite their convincing 6-0 demolition of Maurizio Sarri’s side.
He was speaking as a guest on the latest episode of The Kopite Podcast, where he joined regular hosts Matt Ramirez and Mick Moran to discuss Liverpool’s victory over Bournemouth on Saturday, and look ahead to next week’s Champions League clash with German giants Bayern Munich.
Sear said: “I still don’t think [Manchester City] are 100% right. I heard [Graham] Souness after the game saying ‘I’m not sure they’re going to lose again up until the end of the season’, but people were saying that when they beat us a few weeks ago and they went and lost against Newcastle.
“There were times against Chelsea – only moments in the first half – where Pep was really animated on the touchline. I don’t think he’s 100% happy with certain things at the moment.
“Don’t get me wrong they’re a top, top side, but they’re not untouchable.”
