Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster has been named as one of the 20 most exciting young footballing talents in the world in the latest version of a popular online feature.
The 18-year-old has been included in the 2019 edition of the #JF20 – an annual list of www.just-football.com’s 20 player from whom they expect big things over the course of their careers – despite his injury woes over the last year.
London-born Brewster has been sidelined since January 2018, where he sustained heavy ankle and knee damage in an awkward fall during an u23 match.
It has been a long road to recovery for the youngster – who has recently returned to training along with fellow absentee Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – and Reds fans are left waiting eagerly to see if he can continue his promising development despite his long injury layoff.
Brewster signed a new five-year deal with Liverpool last June, showing the Merseyside club is invested in his future and that they can see him making an impact upon the first team at some point.
With Daniel Sturridge looking more and more like he will be heading out of the Anfield exit when his contract expires in the summer and Divock Origi’s destiny still unclear, the former-Chelsea youth could have a chance to push his way into Jurgen Klopp’s plans as early as the start of next season.
For now, the 18-year-old must focus solely on getting back to full fitness and continuing his promising development so that he can fulfill the enormous potential we all know he possesses.
