In episode 15 of The Kopite podcast co-hosts Matt Ramirez and Mick Moran are joined by Redmen TV regular Amy Laurence.
First on the agenda for the trio was to recap the huge 2-0 home Champions League victory against Porto for the Reds. The talk centred upon how workmanlike the performance was and, of course, Naby Keita bagging his second goal in as many games.
The discussion then turned to the excellent comeback against Southampton in our crucial 3-1 win. The guys talked about how important the victory was and how it shows how far Liverpool have come under Jurgen Klopp to be grinding out such wins against difficult opposition away from home with all the pressure of being in a Premier League title-race.
Mo Salah finally scoring his 50th Premier League goal in the game was also on the agenda and how important that will be for Mo’s confidence going forward; after having a bit of a dry-spell in front of goal by his extremely high standards.
The talk then moved to the tricky upcoming game against Chelsea. The guys discussed how they thought the game would go and how important it is to dispel some of those Chelsea demons from from the previous title charge in 13/14 (the Gerrard slip etc.).
As usual, the trio also answered all your Twitter questions!
Amy then went on to tell us how she came to be involved with Redmen and how starting their own women’s football podcast was a huge breakthrough, and something they wish to push in the coming years especially with the Women’s World Cup just on the horizon this summer.
