After amassing 97 points in the Premier League and lifting the Champions League trophy, the 2018/19 season was one of the most memorable in Liverpool FC’s long and storied history.

A long and difficult, yet riveting and record-breaking campaign both thrilled and exasperated supporters in equal measure – yet most would love to be able to relive it all. Well now they can, with the ‘Liverpool Football Club: Champions of Europe Season Review 2018/19‘ DVD from LFC and Pitch International.

Narrated throughout by the dulcet tones of LFC TV presenter Peter McDowall, it contains almost seven hours of footage over two discs – including every goal scored, highlights from domestic and European competition and enlightening interviews with players and coaches talking about the season.

The first disc begins with a recap of last summer’s transfer activity, showing the arrivals of Naby Keita, Fabinho, Alisson and Xherdan Shaqiri at Anfield as the Reds signalled their intent ahead of kicking-off against West Ham United in their Premier League opener.

More than three hours of high-octane action follows, as the Reds’ rip-roaring start to the season builds up excitement ahead of the truly remarkable events that would follow. December was a month that produced some of the most iconic moments of the campaign, all of which are captured in stunning detail.

Divock Origi’s last-minute winner against Everton and the pandemonium that ensued is particularly enjoyable to revisit, while Alisson’s save against Napoli in the final European group game feels even more significant considering the fruits that the rest of the competition bore for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Throughout the rest of the disc, we witness once again such special delights as the action-packed 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace, Mohamed Salah’s piledriver from 30 yards to down Chelsea and the end-of-season mayhem in both the Premier League and Europe.

Despite the heartbreak of failing to win the league with a record-breaking 97 points, it really is a pleasure to re-view it all as Liverpool produced some of the best football and runs of results in recent memory.

Two moments stand out in particular as being too perfect to just be covered by a highlights package, but disc two remedies this. Viewers are able to re-watch the demolition of Barcelona at Anfield and – subsequently – Liverpool lifting the Champions League trophy with full replays of both the semi-final second leg and the final.

Social media users will know that fans have been reliving these glorious scenes ever since, so to be able to see the games all over again is a real pleasure.

To top it all off, a special bonus feature shows edited highlights of the homecoming parade back in Liverpool, as almost a million adoring supporters turned out on the streets of the city to celebrate their heroes and show their pride and passion after the Reds’ exploits in Madrid and over the season as a whole.

It really is a pleasure to watch it all over again, while the addition of the player and staff interviews throughout provide an interesting new angle to all the key moments.

It really is a must-watch for any Liverpool fan. You can’t not love it.

The ‘Liverpool Football Club: Champions of Europe Season Review 2018/19‘ is available now on DVD (£14.99) and Blu-Ray (£19.99).
