The Kopite Podcast returns for episode three of the season with Mick Moran being joined by our very own website contributor Jay Pearson for his podcast debut!
The duo kicked off with a chat about the tricky 1-0 away win at Sheffield United and how it needed a different type of Liverpool performance to get over the line all the while lauding the performances of centre-back duo Joël Matip and Virgil van Dijk.
The lads then moved on to cover the upcoming Wednesday Champions League tie against FC Salzburg and discussed who would start in midfield — debating whether Naby Keïta could make a start after not being involved in the Sheffield United win.
Matip was also on the agenda, after Jürgen Klopp signalled that the Cameroonian will miss the Salzburg game — providing a great chance for Joe Gomez to step in and stake his claim for a starting berth.
Mick and Jay also discussed the importance of getting three points on the board following our first Champions League game loss to Napoli and why the usual front three will be required in top form to ensure a win.
Lastly, the boys took some questions from Twitter before moving onto previewing the upcoming Leicester game on Saturday and making some bold scoreline predictions.
We’d like to thank Jay for taking the time to make an appearance on the podcast!
