RATINGS | Watford 3-0 Liverpool: Reds poor across the board at Vicarage Road

Don Kopleone’s player ratings as Liverpool slipped to their first Premier League defeat of the season against Watford on Saturday.

We could spend a long time on this performance. Liverpool were woeful, even if all goals conceded came *slightly* out of the blue. Were Watford the better team? Maybe. The Hornets certainly were the better exponents of defensive frailties.

Liverpool missed Joe Gomez. Ismaïla Sarr was the key factor in exposing that absence and, after 13 months, the Reds were comfortably beaten for the first time in the Premier League.

Here are your ratings:

Starting XI

Ali 6.5 — Not at fault for any of the goals.

Trent 5.5 — Horrible for Watford’s third. Delivery was underwhelming.

Degsy 5.5 — Could be a coincidence that Lovren coming in arrived with our first loss of the season. Didn’t feel like a coincidence though.

Big Virg 6.5 — Not Virgil’s best performance, but I’ve failed to spot a mistake in any of our goals conceded.

Robbo 6 — Attacking play didn’t do enough.

Ox 5.5 — Quiet, at best. In the Naby v Oxlade battle to start against Atlético, it is advantage Naby.

Gini 6 — Did nothing, but Liverpool were much more open after the Dutchman departed.

Fabs 6.5 — Probably Liverpool’s best player- not that it means anything, today.

Mo 5.5 — Nothing.

Bobby 5.5 — Also nothing.

Sadio 6 — Slightly more than nothing, but we’re clutching at straws.
