Liverpool’s 21-year-old defender Anderson Arroyo has joined Spanish Segunda B side Salamanca CF UDS on a season long loan.

The Colombia u20 international joined the Reds in January 2018 from Fortaleza CEIF, for whom he made 14 appearances before being snapped up by the Merseyside club.

Once Arroyo arrived on Merseyside he was immediately loaned away from the club, joining Real Mallorca where he made 14 appearances for the B team. Arroyo would then join fellow Reds youngster Taiwo Awoniyi at K.A.A. Gent for the 2018/19 season, however he did fail to make a appearance for the Belgian side.

In Arroyo’s most recent loan move at FK Mlada Boleslav, he made five appearances as the side finished 10th in the Czech First League.

Arroyo will start his season in Spain later this month when his side face a challenging trip to Deportivo La Coruña.

Despite featuring at three youth levels for Columbia (u17, u20 and u23), Arroyo has only made 32 appearances at club level. Both he and Liverpool will hope that this is his time to really kick on and develop before he runs out of time to prove himself on Merseyside.
