Liverpool set a new club record as the put seven past Crystal Palace with no reply – their biggest margin of victory in the Premier League era.
After Takumi Minamino got his first goal in the English top flight, Palace grew into the game and looked dangerous for a time, until Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino put the Reds into a commanding lead.
Liverpool could have eased off at that point, but they scored another four in the second half in what was a terrific performance. Jordan Henderson got in on the goal-scoring act and Firmino netted again, before Mohamed Salah came off the bench to bag a brace.
Salah and Curtis Jones had been dropped to the bench for Liverpool after their exploits in the midweek win over Spurs, with Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino coming in to start. Joel Matip also returned after missing the game on Wednesday night with a back complaint.
Nathaniel Clyne started for Palace against his former club, but Christian Benteke was absent through suspension. Jordan Ayew lead the line instead for the Londoners, flanked by the dangerous duo of Eberechi Eze and Wilfried Zaha.
