Good afternoon Kopites and welcome to our live coverage of Liverpool’s first post-Christmas bout, as they face strugglers West Bromwich Albion at Anfield.

The Baggies are one of the few sides who the Reds haven’t faced yet in the Premier League this season, and are already on their second manager of the campaign.

Slaven Bilić was relieved of his duties earlier this month, with Sam Allardyce being brought in to steady the ship at The Hawthorns.

Big Sam was the last manager to beat Liverpool at Anfield, while the last team to defeat the Reds in a match on December 27 was… yep, you guessed it, West Brom.

After a 7-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace last time out, Liverpool will be confident that history will not repeat itself here. Asking for seven more goals here would perhaps be a tad greedy, but another big win would do wonders for confidence – and goal difference.
