RECAP | Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United: Reds’ woes in front of goal continue

MATTHEW RAMIREZ provides live updates as Liverpool take on bitter rivals Manchester United in the Premier League clash at Anfield.

Liverpool are now without a win in their last four Premier League outings as they once again failed to take the three points against Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side seemed rather content to play for a point and keep their place at the summer of the table, restricting the Reds’ misfiring front line to half-chances.

Speaking of misfiring, Roberto Firmino looks entirely bereft of confident in front of goal for Liverpool, with more and more suggestions being made that the Reds need to look at bringing in a more natural finished to boost the attacking line.

Fortunately, the unbeaten record at Anfield was protected by a makeshift defence which included a centre-back pairing of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Joël Matip wasn’t fit enough to start this one, and the skipper was a surprise selection over the more natural options available in Rhys Williams and Nathaniel Phillips, but Henderson’s experience was a huge help in keeping the clean sheet.

Also massive was Alisson, who produced a couple of stunning saves towards the end of the game to preserve the point at least.
