Diogo Jota has enjoyed a superb debut season for Liverpool so far, proving exactly why the Reds chose to splash out to bring him to Anfield from Wolves.
He hit the ground running with some important goals during his first few matches on Merseyside, especially with a superb hat-trick against Atalanta in the Champions League.
The Portuguese’s impact was such that his absence was keenly felt when out for several for several months with injury.
But a triumphant return to action would eventually come, once again proving his importance by scoring the winning goal against his former employers last time out for Liverpool.
That was his 10th goal in all competitions so far in this first season with the Reds – a strong return considering his injury left him on the sidelines for more than three months.
Jota’s finish in the final moments of the first half was the only goal of the game, as he came back to haunt his former side and helped his new employers to a vital three points in their quest to secure European football for next season.
It also made him the 17th Liverpool player in the Premier League era to reach double figures in all competitions during their first season with the club.
Can you name the other players on that list? You’ve got four minutes to do so – good luck!
