I swear you’ll never see anything like this ever again… So watch it! Drink it in!

…But seriously, what on earth just happened?

After 94 minutes of football – some good, some bad, some ugly – Liverpool managed to finally take the all-important lead on their Sunday afternoon trip to the Hawthorns, through the calmness and composure of Alisson Becker, thrown up from his own penalty box for a final corner-kick.

Let it be said, this was as good a header as you will see this season.

Unstoppable, simultaneously powered and placed into Sam Johnstone’s far corner.

Who cares about what happened for the previous 90?

Hal Robson-Kanu scored after some very poor defending from Jürgen Klopp’s side.

Mo Salah struck home a snapshot.

Alisson Becker saved the day.

Your ratings after an unforgettable finish at The Hawthorns:

Starting XI

Ali 9 – I’ve been threatened with a sacking if I do not give Alisson a ’10’, but it genuinely would kill my entire ratings system. I’m so sorry Ali, and I’m so, so grateful… What just happened? WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

Trent 8 – Continues his imperious form, creating chance after chance for the Reds. Drilled cross supplied Alisson at the death.

Natty P 6 – The less uncomfortable of the Reds’ two central defenders, but did not like dealing with balls in behind.

Rhys 5 – Just looks unsure of himself and a level off what is required, to be honest. A loan this summer seems necessary.

Robbo 5.5 – Decision making on the ball has fallen off significantly.

ThiaGOAT 8.5 – The best player on the pitch, if you ignore the demi-God in net. All that Liverpool did well stemmed from their No.6. Man of the match… even if Ali gets the higher rating.

Fabs 7 – Often found himself in more attacking positions than is normal.

CJ 5.5 – Poor on-ball decision-making.

Mo 7.5 – Snapshot was incredibly well taken. Beautifully-weighted cross might have seen Mané take the lead, but was adjudged offside.

Bobby 6 – Smashed the post when let through on goal.

Sadio 5.5 – Composure is gone, frankly, even if the workrate remains.

Subs

Shaq 6.5 – Some slide-rule passes could have resulted in more.

Gini 6 – Should have buried after Salah’s cutback.
