RECAP | Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace: Third place sealed as Chelsea and Leicester lose

Just a month ago it seemed unlikely, perhaps even impossible for some.

But here we are, with Liverpool’s Premier League season over, and third place sealed to secure Champions League football for the next campaign.

They have faced an unprecedented level of injuries, no fit senior centre-backs since January, Jordan Henderson being ruled out for the season in February and six home league defeats in a row for the first time ever.

But despite it all, this amazing group of players has arrested a run of form which had them tumbling down the table, and has ensured they can continue to dine at football’s top table in 2021/22.

Sadio Mané scored once in each half to round off a comfortable victory for Liverpool, while both Chelsea and Leicester City lost to allow the Reds to jump into third.
